Musical Rehearsals

October 23, 2019 Jack Gross Throughout this year I have been working on my school's production of [Title of Show] as the Assistant Director. The process of trying to create a good piece of theatre with a bunch of high school students is... difficult. However all the challenges that I have faced have helped me improve in my understanding of theatre and how it is produced. I have worked with the director in coming up with each action that the actors are dong and refining them to clearly and distinctly communicate our intentions, it has been a great learning experience.  Along with putting lots of effort into this production I have already given up hours and hours of my free time to help us and we still have a long way to go. While I am intimidated by the prospect of a continued lack of time to work on other areas I am committed to making this show the best that I can. October 3, 2019 Jack Gross Class of 2021 This year, I opted to take part in my school’s musical { Title of Show} (A musical about two guys writing a musical about two guys writing a musical. However as things are I am not comfortable singing in front of an audience (I hope to improve in that during this process). I still wanted to help my school produce a good musical so I took up the role of Assistant Director. Even though we only started rehearsals very recently, it has already been a wonderful learning experience for me. On September 11th we (the cast and I) got  together for a read through of the script and pointed out areas that we knew would need more work than others. During that time we all were able to gain a basic understanding of the musical beyond just the songs. When we went through, I marked the areas that we did well in and where we would need more growth.
